An ALIG (Alabang Ladies International Group) Day Social

The Parish of St. Joseph in Las Pinas (a nearby area)-the outside of the church where the bamboo organ is
This is the school building connected with the church
 Inside the church
The organ from the ground floor
An organist came out and played a beautiful classical piece for us as Ashley danced and clapped along
This was part of the museum about the organ-Ashley enjoyed playing this part of an organ and I held her up and showed her how she could feel air coming out the holes in the pipes when I pushed one of the keys.

The area outside surrounding the church
The second tour stop was a Jeepney factory-Greg did this tour when he was here in May and said it did not meet his expectations for a factory tour at all-ie nothing automated-which was certainly true.  Ashley loved it though and her brothers were terribly jealous that they couldn't go along-Ryan made me promise at breakfast that I would take lots of pictures for him.
A girl can't leave home without her shades!
How old is Ashley?  Even in the Philippines I don't think they let you drive at 3!
This one hadn't been painted yet

This is an earlier generation Jeepney pulled by horses and of course, Ashley wanted to drive that one too!
Some of their "assembly line tools"

Some jeepneys in the process of being built

Some street views of the area we were in near the factory

We were supposed to have a 3rd stop on the tour so see a bee farm, but we got caught in traffic (on our way to the middle of nowhere) and passed the bee farm to eat lunch first.  We had a very nice lunch, but it took a long time because there were about 25 of us in the group.  We had 2 very nice ladies ride with us-Patty who moved here from Columbia, South Carolina and Joy who moved here from the country of South Africa.  Both live in our neighborhood.  Joy has 2 older sons at Brent.  Patty's children are grown and not here with her and her husband.  She is going to join me in BSF class-which I am excited about.

After finally finishing lunch (I had pork satay-pork skewers that were very good and Ashley had a pizza and was the last one of the group to get her food-thankfully she was well behaved that day) we decided that we were going to get a head start on the return trip to civilization.  The restaurant owner offered a tour of the garden-where they grow all their own veggies and herbs.  We asked our tour guide for directions to the bee farm, but after talking to our driver decided that we weren't up for getting lost so we would just go on home.  Below are some of the sights from the ride!
This is a carabao-the Philippines National animal-an Asian water buffalo-we wished that we had stopped to buy some of these baskets
This guy was literally right outside my van window and I couldn't resist-I was too embarassed to take a picture of the guy who delivered our dinner but had to show you that McDonalds really does deliver here!
It was pretty where we were out in the middle of nowhere
Here are some carabao on the side of the road-no fence!
