Last post for a while-I promise

This was the sight that greeted us when the boys and I got home from lunch on their last day of school.  Ashley and Ms. Dali had been having fun doing her hair!!!

Below are the pictures from the boys final scout meeting!  It was to be an awards program but the awards didn't arrive!  Too Funny but just how things happen here sometimes!
Ryan with his den!  He is excited to have earned his Bear badge this year!

Scott and his den!  He is excited to be promoted from Webelo to being a true BOY scout next year!

In spite of the distance and extra driving it has involved, the boys have loved being involved in scouts this year and both have learned a lot!

Scott has also lately had a class swimming party at a classmate's house in our neighborhood and gone to a friend's birthday party-who was also born on May 29th.  They did a movie, dinner out, and playing back at his house.

We have partied, celebrated, and enjoyed the end of school and leave in just 3 days to begin our trip home.  I will try to post pictures from our time in Alaska and Vancouver when we get to Atlanta!  Can't wait to see everyone at home!

Boys Last Day of School

Getting ready for Lower School Awards-Ryan is with his class in the below picture
Below is Scott sitting with his class
Here is Scott walking to his place in line with Honors certificate winners-grades of a certain average-He did well all As and Bs.  Next year Ryan will be eligible for this too, they start number/letter grades in 4th grade at their school.
Then we moved to the bigger gym for Moving Up Day for 1st-12th grade.  They sang the school song which made me cry again and also the school's deputy headmaster for the last 14 years is retiring.  He made some very kind remarks and there were not many dry eyes in the gym.  He said not to be sad that it was over but to be happy that it happened-good advice for many things in life!  He was a dedicated man with such a heart for children of ALL ages and will be missed tremendously!

The winning house was announced after ALL the points from ALL the house events were calculated and the boys were thrilled because our house-Gold-won this year!
 There was a huge crowd!
The boys and I had a fun lunch together at McDonald's on the way home!  Yeah for summer break!

Celebrating Ashley and Susan's birthday

3rd post of the day-On Monday, when the boys still had school-Sheila, Hannah, Ashley and I went to have a pedicure, went swimming, and ate treats together.  Sadly I took pictures of Ashley opening her gifts from Hannah, the 2 of them doing ballet together, and getting their toenails done with the memory stick in the computer at home-not inside the camera.

Oh well-Ashley loves her new stuffed pony and has already painted the plastic ones Hannah gave her and they both have beautiful matching HOT PINK toenails.

Here are our little fish enjoying the pool!
The below picture looks like Hannah didn't mean to slide quite like that but she was fine!

 2 sweet VERY good friends!
We made a quick change after swimming and Ashley and I got to have a special girls only lunch with Greg.  Ashley chose to eat pizza at Sbarro!  Can't believe our youngest is 6!  Below are pictures from all of her birthdays!

Here is Ashley with GG not long after she was born

At Grammy's house on her 1st birthday-this face illustrates how our youngest lives life-wide open and ready for anything!
Having cupcakes with cousins at Grammy's house and trying to make a 2 with her fingers!  2 is hard to make!
Celebrating turning 3 with a big girl bike to take to Manila with us!
Celebrating with her summer camp preschool class in Manila-turning 4!
Greg's dad Larry, started the tradition of giving both of his girls a rose on their birthdays and here is Greg with Ashley and her 5th b'day rose!

Ashley's moving up day program

So the Nursery, Pre-K, and Kindergarten classes have a Moving Up Day program for just them.  They did a play of the Little Red Hen.  It was hilarious!  Above are the chicks

Below is a chick who is the daughter of a friend and was part of the drama.  The hen is on the right!
 Ashley's class were the cows
Her buddy Hannah was a fox

One Kindergarten class was the pigs

Another Kindergarten class was the cats

One of Ashley's classmates was a sleek, steel eyed fox and did a terrific job with her solo and the sneaky part she had to play!

After the play ended all the Kindergarteners names were called out and they walked across the stage to receive a rolled up, blank piece of paper-real certificates were with their report cards-and hugs from their teachers!  It was very sweet!

Then they sang the school song-which is so sweet and always makes me cry even though it isn't my school.

Here is Ashley with one of her good friends, downstairs in the cafeteria during the reception afterwards.  It was crowded and crazy because we were sharing the cafeteria with the middle and high school kids who had breaks between exams!
 Ashley and Hannah!
 Ashley and another fellow cow!

Hannah's mom, my friend Sheila, asked if we had a minute to stop at her house on the way home.  We did and she and Hannah sang and had made us a cake!  SO sweet!  So we enjoyed a treat with them before going home for the day.  I am thankful for sweet friends here!

Random Recent Things

NO this is not pineapple!  It is really watermelon-yes some of them are yellow on the inside here.  Some are red like we grow in the Southern US but here some are yellow too.  They look the same on the outside and sometimes there are signs in the grocery store to tell you if they are yellow or red inside but sometimes there are not.

A typical weekend face on Ryan-he, Greg, and I like bacon.  Scott and Ashley do not-no I do not know what is wrong with them!  We like to tease Ryan about the bacon and NO Greg didn't really eat anywhere near all that is on his plate-now Ryan probably would have if I had let him!  Admit it-if you like bacon, it is hard to share!
I have been meaning to post this picture since the middle of May when I purchased ALL 3 of these bags of candy from the same aisle of the same grocery store on the same day!  No I am not saving them to freeze for next year, we have eaten them all already but it made me laugh!

Here is Ashley playing with the animal puppet gloves-These were GG's and her preschool kids loved them!
On Sunday, to Ashley a dress is good only if it "twirls well"

Below is something she wrote at school one of the last days-"I'm Flipping out over summer because. . .  I'm going to Alaka and Vacover with my famaliy"  I LOVE creative Kindergartener spelling!
We are all SUPER excited about our Disney cruise to Alaska that leaves from Vancouver.  We will get to spend a week enjoying cold weather before we fly to Atlanta and spend several weeks with family and friends!  Can't wait-just 3 more days!
