Ashley's field trip to the Noodle Factory

Another place where they were VERY strict about the no picture taking but her school enjoyed a fun trip to see where/how they make Lucky Me Noodles and we got to meet Lucky M and the kids had their picture made with him and it appeared on the Lucky Me facebook page.

Here is a sign as we drove into the factory

Ashley loves fork lifts and since we had already been told that picture taking wasn't allowed inside, I took most of these from our van

It was really neat, we got to see through windows, the actual area where the noodles are made-most are kind of like ramen noodles that everyone ate in college b/c they were so cheap.  We saw them in VERY long strips and then they were sliced by a machine, and put into packages with their flavorings and the packages were put into boxes and taken out to the loading docks in the above pictures.  The kids got to watch a video of the Lucky M noodle guy in some tv commercials and watch a pretend demo of noodles being made-mixing flour, water, and egg and put through the flattener and the noodle cutter.  They used play dough for the demo because they aren't allowed to use real ingredients.

After the tour, we went to the factory store and bought some things to try at home.
Everyone got a free pack of curly spaghetti
We have tried the mac and cheez and it was ok-the flavoring was a thick cheese sauce and it was rather dry-Ashley liked it but the boys said that the Kraft blue box kind was better.

They also make cookies-called biscuits here.  These were good-they were like mini oreos
These are like cupcakes and were good too but I should have gotten the butter kind instead of mocha since we are not coffee people
This was taken by the factory people-Ashley is on the back row, just to the Lucky M noodle guy's left.  It was a fun field trip!
