Band Concert

Scott is in band as his music class this year and before Christmas they had a concert where just the 5th graders played.  For the spring concert all band members 5th-12th grade were involved.  The 5th graders played 4 pieces:  Philippine National Anthem-which is a beautiful piece of music, Edelweiss, Mamma Mia, and I'm a Believer.
The concert was at 5 so I came to pick up Ashley and Ryan at school and we watched Ryan practice for swim team, did homework, and ate supper at the cafeteria.
All of the band is a LOT of kids

This is the deputy headmaster and behind him in the green barongs (traditional men's Philippine shirt) and the green dresses are the APAC band students-who travel and compete representing Brent.  There are also: Middle and High School bands and Jazz Ensembles.
In the black long dress is Mrs. Leggatt-Scott's band teacher, directing with her stick!  Ashley asks me and you can here on the movie I was taking at the time "mommy why does she need a stick?  She could just use her hands to direct!"
5th graders watching some of the other groups perform
One of the jazz groups played "Rock Around the Clock" and I was taking a video of them playing and when I realized Scott and his buddies were all "dancing around" in their seats I moved the camera over to them so you could still here the music but watch the 5th graders dancing!  It was funny!

It was a wonderful concert!  Scott was nervous but performed well!
