Disney-our resort and Animal Kingdom

We went to Disney over Spring Break-yes a CRAZY crowded time to go but Greg was going to Orlando for a business mtg so we decided it was convenient.  The only place I really noticed crowds being horrible was at Magic Kingdom.
This is the lobby of the resort we stayed at-a Disney one-so we could do extra hours and have transportation provided for us.  It was a great fit for us.

The rooms there are themed either Cars, Finding Nemo, or Little Mermaid.  We chose the Cars one and lucked out with its location-near the front parking area.  It had 2 bathrooms.  The above blue couch pulled out to a bed where the boys slept and the brown wall with Tow Mater on it pulled down to make a bed for Ashley to sleep on-we just had to move chairs and the table folded up underneath.

The room decor was really cute!

Below is mine and Greg's room

Ready to go on our first morning!  We also had a kitchenette in the room-a small fridge, sink, and microwave.  We brought quick stuff for breakfast because we were doing a dining plan that didn't include breakfast and we were all about making the most of the time to ride the most rides!!!!

 Photo bombers!

outside the resort was very cutely decorated too-we just weren't there much during daylight to take pictures.  These sea gulls would start all saying "mine, mine, mine, mine" just like the ones in Finding Nemo the movie
Our first day was at Animal Kingdom-we chose based on which parks had longer hours for guests staying on Disney properties.  I am SO glad that we went to all the parks during our stay since the last time I had been I was Ashley's age and they were building Epcot.

Our first ride-a dino themed roller coaster that we liked so much we rode it a ton!

We asked a person to take our picture in front of this indoor ride called the dinosaur and laughed when we realized that he had cut the dinosaur's head off

there were lots of places to see animals in Animal Kingdom
we went to a cool bird show

 Map study at lunchtime

Ryan's hair is crazy on a normal day and a hat, sweat, and pulling the hat off and on just makes it crazier!

We saw a few characters and had our picture made in front of the Animal Kingdom tree

We really enjoyed the wildlife reserve ride and saw neat animals there too

In front of the Mt. Everest roller coaster-we all rode once but that was enough for me.  Scott and Greg rode it a ton more times!

You can never get too much Mickey Mouse-my afternoon snack was a pretzel and of course all the Elliott (by birth) people chose ice cream!

We enjoyed the Lion King show-great dancers and costumes!

saw a couple of more characters
squished into a hole in the rocks!
We had dinner at Tiffins-our fanciest meal of the trip.  I am not a big food photographer but my plate was so pretty that I decided to.  I had wagyu beef.  We also ordered swordfish and duck breast and all shared and tasted from each other's plates.  Their food was very delicious!

Ashley had pasta-her tastes are a little plainer than everyone else's!
We stayed until they were almost kicking people out that night!
