Ryan's Class

Monday I took Ashley to school and went to Brent to help Ryan's class with their valentine charity project.  They sold valentine grams to students-a cookie and a note where they could write their own message.  The money goes to the same students in the surrounding area public schools that the Christmas bags went to.  The children were given heart shaped cookies to spread icing on and the cover with sprinkles-some of these cookies will give a massive SUGAR HIGH but the kids had a great time making them pretty!

Then while 2 other moms and I bagged up the valentine cookies, the children were copying the valentine messages onto the hearts to get them ready for delivery.  When we got the form to order the valentine grams, I asked Ryan who he wanted to order them for he immediately said "Hudson"  He is a younger friend of Ryan's from our church in Greenville.  I thought that was SO sweet, but told Ryan that it would be a moldy envelope of crumbs by the time it reached Hudson so I didn't think that was such a great idea!  I just emailed Hudson's mom and told her to give Hudson a hug from Ryan!

Tuesday-Ashley and I are going back to Ryan's class to read some books and play valentine games with his class as part of their party.  We had a great time-I am finally learning most of the kids names now-many of them are very unusual!  They were all SO excited about it being Valentine's day.  We played a version of pin the tail on the donkey where the kids were blindfolded and trying to put a sticky note on a small heart drawn on a big sheet of paper.  It was fun to be with them as always and as an added gift his teacher didn't give any homework that night!  I was just as happy as Ryan!

 Now it's Mia's turn
Now everyone is back at their desks working to solve a valentine's riddle
Of course, Ashley wanted a paper too-though she surprised me and said that she didn't want a turn at the game where you had to wear the blindfold.  It was a fun party, but I am sure that Ryan's teacher was glad to see the end of the day finally get there!  I would have!
