More on Greg's trip & Greg comes home

Those who are his friend saw his post about eating at the Hippopotamus restaurant in Paris.  I told him that I was going to be offended if he EVER again told me that one of my "dinner experiments" aka a new recipe was weird after he voluntarily ate hippopotamus steak for dinner!

Weather was the problem getting to Paris.  Now trying to leave many of the Air France flights have been cancelled because of workers on strike.  Greg emailed to tell me they had made arrangements to take the Chunnel instead.  I was explaining to the kids yesterday about what was going on.  I told them that Greg was going to get to go from Paris to London underwater.  Scott said "in a submarine???"  I couldn't help but laugh.  Ryan eyes got really big and thought riding a train that went underwater was even cooler than a submarine.  Then, of course, I had to read to them about the chunnel and look for pictures online.  They were both hoping for a clear tunnel so you could see from the train windows out into the water, but I explained that glass that strong would have to be really thick and expensive.  They greatly enjoyed the pictures he sent this morning of the trains and the station.  Yet another reason to want to go on a business trip with him.  However I wish I had had a camera to capture the looks of disgust on their faces when I told them that Daddy had eaten hippopotamus steak for dinner!

All the cool stuff Greg brought for us-very yummy chocolate and an Eiffel Tower statue from Paris, Christmas coasters to go with our Christmas dishes from London, and blue and white little ceramic houses from Amsterdam.  Greg did also send us some pictures of the chunnel train and station-the boys were hoping that the tunnel would be glass so you could see out into the water but explained that would have to be really thick and expensive glass!
Everyone watching as Greg shows Ryan how to work his gyroscope
 it spins really fast!

Daddy has been gone and is trying to catch up on a whole week's worth of tickles that he has missed so the boys get squished into this gap between the pantry and the wall so they can't escape the tickles but Ashley is fighting valiantly to help her brothers!

Uh-Oh!  They are getting away!
