A friend gave Ashley a kit where you mix up water and plaster powder and pour that in molds. When they dry they are cute little plaster fairies that you can paint and make into refrigerator magnets. Ashley had been asking to make them for days! We had made them last week and then finally today, I got brave enough to let her paint them. Greg said he was curious to see how our painting compared to the perfectly colored fairies on the box. I told Ashley that I wanted to paint just 1 all by myself and she could paint the other 4. So we got out the paint and some brushes and here are the results!
Above and below are some pictures of the box with their perfectly painted fairies-they also have a professional color mixer and much finer brushes than they sell in the children's kits.
My little artist getting to work! Of course the first color she chose to use was PINK!
The one with the flower and the fairy in the purple dress is mine and Ashley's is covered in pink, blue, purple, and yellow.
Which one can I do next?
Here are the final results-not as pretty as the box but she had a terrific time painting!
We did a few other things while the fairies were drying and then it was time to go to preschool. When I picked Ashley up from school, she had this really neat life cycle of a butterfly that she had made and got to bring home today. It was so neat I wanted to share a picture.
You should also notice her hair! When I took her to school and when I picked her up, both pigtails were in braids. We stopped at the grocery store on the way home and she jumped and bounced and played so hard while we were there just getting a few things that she bounced out one of her braids. I saw the rubber band laying in the floor! But what a cute face-even if her hair is more than a little "cattywampus!"
