Easter Sunday Morning at the Grand Canyon

Breakfast at our hotel's restaurant-I loved the painting of the Grand Canyon behind them

We went for a helicopter ride over the canyon that morning.

and Greg-the 3 of us sat in the back.  Scott and Ashley sat up front with the pilot.  We flew for several minutes over trees and then it was like the ground dropped away from underneath us-it was amazingly beautiful!

Neat that there was still snow in some areas!  even in April

Our afternoon was renting bicycles in the park and riding on some trails.

Scott was very careful-it only looked like he was about to fall to his death

I was amazed our whole trip out there at how different the landscape is from where we live.  I would still choose where we live but am SO thankful we took this trip to see out west. 

 

April 2021 Hoover Dam

Spring Break trip 2021-We flew into Las Vegas, picked up our rental car, and stopped for Chick Fil A for lunch-I didn't know they had those here.  We also went to walmart to pick up a styrofoam cooler and some bottled water before getting on the road.  Our first stop was Hoover Dam.  Below is the view at a pull off point where we stopped.

I like taking pictures of license tags when we travel.

Hoover Dam-the word big just isn't enough!  We had hoped to get to go for a tour but there are not open for tours yet.

It was really neat to see in person!

The dam straddles the states of Nevada and Arizona
