Scott went to scout camp for a whole week this past summer and had an awesome time. These pictures were from Wednesday nights when the families were invited up to visit and have dinner!
Scott is the one holding the red and white troop flag
The adirondack where he stayed
stuffing his things into his trunk
the troop's campsite-we had pizza for dinner and it was fun to see him and hear about what he had been doing all week!
dutch ovens over the coals, holding dessert
You can tell the adults were having fun too!
Scott was showing us tricks with his hiking stick
On our hike back to the car, I took this cute picture of Ashley and Ryan. They had a campfire and skits and things that went on MUCH later, but the camp is north of Furman, nearly to North Carolina and it was already late-so we came on home!
The trading post-Scott is already looking forward to going back next year. He earned 6 merit badges and had lots of fun too!

Saint Simons Trip
As an only child it is interesting and usually quite entertaining to watch siblings together-whether it is our 3 kids, their cousins, or Greg and "our" 2 sisters. Emily is in the middle and Jodi on the right. Emily is 9 years younger than Greg and I which made her about Scott's age when we got married. There is only 3 years between us and Jodi but she was mad at me and cried the night of our rehearsal dinner because I was "taking her brother away." I think that she likes me a little better now (though she is unhappy that Ashley, Scott, and I hi-hijacked "her" birthday). All in good fun, really! This picture above is SO typical of the 3 of them together and it makes us smile!
Reading and uno playing!
Ryan wouldn't put down his book so he got cereal in a cup for breakfast!
To the beach!!!!!! This is SO much better than when they were all so little that we had to carry all the stuff out to the beach!!!!! and pull a wagon with the littlest ones riding!
Joy and Ashley
Uncle Jake caught a huge crab
Maggie is our youngest cousin and made AMAZING swimming progress this summer!
Love Ryan's look with the scuba booties and mask!
We celebrated Ian's birthday-he turned 9! with Granny Joan's famous Lemon Blossoms
We LOVE watching how much fun they all have together!
puzzles
Downtown and eating dinner at Iguana's-the kids favorite place because of the free ice cream!
showing off my work having painted toenails!
a bike ride one afternoon!
More beach fun!
sparklers and playing with other kids and dogs on the beach our last night there!
This was apparently the first time Ashley remembers doing sparklers and she asked me after I had ALREADY handed her one that was lit "Mommy what happens when the fire gets close to my fingers??????" She makes me laugh all the time. I told her that they wouldn't burn down that far!
Uncle Chris was great to let the boys have turns to help him fly his power kite!
Time at the beach gets better and better with these sweet cousins!
