Second Day at Magic Kingdom-day 5 at Disney

We had a pretty well laid out plan for getting to what everyone wanted to do most before we left Disney today.  We started out riding Space Mountain a few more times before lines got long.  I rode once and then rode the people mover-a pretty plain little train but it gives you some unique up high views and does go through the building where space mountain is.

Below is the Space Mtn building

You can tell it was early from the lack of people walking around-Greg and Ryan are in the picture below
We were going to to a Buzz Lightyear shooting game to kill some time before some of the rides we wanted to do in Frontierland and Adventureland opened.  This was a cute shirt in their gift shop-it says "you've got a friend in me" in Spanish.

Scott happened to notice that the Disney employee at the entrance to this ride was from the Philippines-where they are from is always on their tags (and in the country section of Epcot employees have to be from that country).  We stopped to speak to her and chatted for a while.  She was familiar with the area where we had lived over there and was happy to meet someone who knew about her home.  She led us back to the ride without having to wait in line again and made our day even more amazing by giving us extra Fast Passes-where you can wait in no line or a much shorter one for several extra rides on anything in the park we wanted.  What a kind employee!

The picture in front of the castle

 Swiss Family Robinson treehouse

I remember seeing this as a child and being amazed at how real it looked-the tree is made of concrete-none of it is actually living.

We rode the mine Thunder Mtn. roller coaster again and then the boys and I rode Splash Mountain.  Ashley hates wet clothes and Greg doesn't like water rides so they watched for us to come down the big hill and get wet!

It felt great.  I forgot that the inside of the ride was long and full of Uncle Remus stories of Brer Rabbit, Bear, and Fox and music from Song of the South.

We took a jungle cruise and saw fake animals and had a boat tour guide that was hilarious

We didn't go out to Tom Sawyer's island but laughed about the partly white washed fence
we took a ride on the paddle wheel riverboat-crazy Ryan

got to see the parade from the riverboat

Had one last snack-Ryan chose cotton candy-gross!

then we did some shopping along Main Street USA and got all matching style shirts on our way out.
Bye to the parks-they were all amazing and great fun!

Here we all are wearing our shirts at the beach for a picture together.  We didn't notice when we bought them but there is something from each park on each shirt-Cinderella's castle, tree from Animal Kingdom, the golf ball from Epcot, and Tower of Terror ride from Hollywood Studios.

We went back to Art of Animation to pick up our luggage and car and move to a different hotel for the rest of our stay.  This was Wednesday afternoon.  While waiting for luggage, Scott took this picture of the main pool at the resort for me.  Art of Animation has the largest pool anywhere at Disney and it was neat.  Ashley, Ryan, and I came home earlier one night to go for a quick swim and could even see fireworks from one of the parks while we were in the pool.
