Winter fun!

Ashley's class celebrated the 101st day of school by dressing up in black and white like 101 dalmatians.  They also had visitors from the Greenville Humane society and collected 101 items to donate to them for dogs and cats they care for.
 Walking with Max

 and biking and scootering
Greg taught Scott and then Scott taught Ryan how to play the board game Stratego!

A painting project we took on while Greg was on a business trip and his side of the garage was empty.  These bookshelves were in my playroom when I was little and I am embarrassed to say that I was allowed to choose this extremely LOUD shade of green they were painted.  The kids had fun helping me make them white to go in their playroom-it took LOTS of coats!

Max looking like he was walking along and all of a sudden was so tired that he just fell over!

In Greenville County once a quarter kids vote on one boy and one girl classmate for the Terrific kid award.  Ashley was chosen and was SUPER excited!  The letters is Terrific stand for: Thoughtful, Enthusiastic, Respectful, Responsible, Inclusive, Friendly, Inquisitive, and Capable.
Above are all the 1st Grade winners

We made a weekend run to Atlanta so that Ashley could be part of celebrating Abby Jane's birthday celebration!

It was a Frozen themed party!

On the way back to Greenville we got to stop and see another cousin-Katie was in North GA with the reading team from her school competing.  They were assigned certain books to read and had to answer questions about them.  Scott and Ryan had fun watching and seeing which questions they knew the answers for.

Valentines Day-Ryan got a Reese's valentine heart because peanut butter cups are his favorite.  Ashley got a chocolate rose and Scott a huge Hershey kiss-because at his age it is just about quantity!
Grammy came to visit on Valentine's weekend.  Scott taught her to play Stratego too.
We created a special fondue restaurant in the dining room that was fun.  Greg had taken Ashley on a special date night for dessert at the Melting Pot (he was out of town and was going to miss the Father/daughter dance at school) and she talked about how good it was so much that the boys wanted to try fondue out!
"The Elliott's Melting Pot The Best place for Fondue"
we had marshmallows, strawberries, and pound cake squares

 Beginnings of winter weather!
what is all this crunchy stuff??????

The playroom is starting to come together finally with bookshelves and cubbies for Legos-since it is a widely known fact that stepping on legos in the floor is unbelievably painful!
 More winter-y weather!

President's Day-is it disrespectful to the office of the President to make Washington and Lincoln out of vanilla wafers?????

 a little more sleet/ice!

Ryan loved his new lumberjack pjs from Granny Joan and Great Grandaddy Cook for Christmas!  They are very soft and warm!
 Settling into the playroom!
This stool that Ashley is rolling on the side of was in my grandmother's house when I was a little girl and I used to do the very same thing to it all around her den!
 More ice to play in!

Though ice is fun to play with if everyone can stay home, we were hoping for more actual snow, but that is the way most winters go in the South!

trying to break up the driveway ice so Greg could make it out safely to work the next day
