What Scott has been up to

He has been doing swim club since January and tried out and made the swim team recently.  Here are some pictures from practice one afternoon when I happened to be at school.  All the kids are having so much fun getting to swim all year long here!

He had to build an invention for a school project-I wish that I could apologize for and take back all the at home projects I assigned as a teacher now that I am the one who has to help do the projects.  Scott thought the project was great.  We (Scott and I-sadly all of this took place while Greg was on his business trip to Australia) built a car that can drive, fly, float on water, and sink like a submarine.  I was extremely grateful that the model didn't have to work-they have talked a lot at school about inventions and famous inventors and how it often takes a VERY long time to get a working model.  Now he wants to make one that will really work-maybe I'll let Greg tackle that when he gets home!  Here is a picture of his project board and the model car.

All the 3rd grade inventors as Ashley and I walked up

Wouldn't you want to take a trip in this awesome futuristic car????  I think that if we could really make one, we would have let Greg use it to get to work in Manila every morning and come home to Greenville each night!
Here is Emilio and his "never lose your pencil headband"  The teacher would like to have one of these for all the students to save time looking for missing pencils.

The lady in the green top is Scott's teacher
Ashley is looking at a friend's water xylophone-she thought it was really cool.
 A survival vest
Above is Bridget from New Zealand-She invented a box that comes to you to collect recycling-she and her 4th grade brother Max live in our neighborhood and ride the bus with the boys.  Their mom, Gill (pronounced Jill) is very nice and they have a big dog-looks like a chocolate lab-named Gabby, that Ashley likes to pet when we see them at the bus stop!
Scott's friend Jude, showing Ashley his pulley system delivery box
My sister in law Emily, needs this invention-she recently had a disaster involving her laptop and a cup of coffee.

Mr. Fountain-one of the other 3rd grade teachers-speaking to the parents who came
Dr. Southerland, the principal, came to see the inventions too.
The son of our friends from Chile-his name is Santiago-called Santi and he showed me how his invention worked.

Scott has grown a WHOLE INCH in the months of January and February!  I did the measuring both times-same place, marked on paper on our wall, barefooted and heels against the wall.  I was shocked but it is true!  So that's where he puts all the food he eats.

He is still reading up a storm!
