The Shallow Pool

The workmen came to finish the last of the repairs to our house.  Two of the things we had asked to have done were to screw the drain cover in the pool down-it floated off every time we swam and we were hoping they could fix the light inside the pool so that it would work.  To accomplish these two items, they brought a pump and drained a lot of the pool's water.  They made the repairs and I took lots of pictures so the boys could see when they got home from school.

It took so long though that I asked them not to refill the pool.  When they got home from school the boys wanted to go swimming.  Ashley went outside with us and was very upset that the pool wasn't right but when she saw how much fun the boys were having swimming, she and I came back in, put on our suits, and joined them.

The contractor (in the loud hawaiian print shirt) and workmen finishing at our house.

It is always entertaining to watch Ryan jump in the pool!
Ashley did not want to join in at first but after looking at it decided "Maybe this is neat!"

Scott could walk the whole length of the pool-at the deepest point his head was tilted all the way back and just barely above water but they all really enjoyed swimming in the shallow pool.  The boys didn't want us to fill it back up.

I'll post pictures soon and yes, the bottom of our pool is tiled with tiles that look like what you might put in your bathroom.  That shouldn't surprise you when you know that several of our showers have doors that look like sliding glass patio doors-as we have been told "we aren't in Kansas anymore."

Something funny that happened the day the workmen were here was that the head guy came to the door and (I thought) asked me for a map.  I didn't know why he wanted a map from me and then he pointed to the slippery wet tile out by the pool and said "to clean up"  Oh-he means a MOP not an map.  I didn't have one but then he asked for a towel.  It just struck me as funny that sometimes even when both parties are speaking English their are still misunderstandings.
