Our Container

The container arriving outside our house
 I liked the guys' shirts
 The dining room
 The den
 The kitchen
 The Playroom
Someone was very excited to see her toy kitchen again!
 Our favorite green sofa
Ryan at his desk, with his new blue chair and happy to see his bunk beds
This is Rick-the head of our moving crew-he came back to finish up a few things on Monday and brought his carrier pigeon in his training box-which rode on the back of his motorcycle.  He let Ashley pet the pigeon which she loved.  He explained to us that he was training the bird to deliver messages and released him at our house to fly quite a ways back to his house.

It finally arrived on Friday, September 9th!  It was driven away from our home in Greenville on June 17th.

I asked the kids what they had missed most from their container-I could have predicted what they would say-

Scott said books

Ryan said his bed

and

Ashley-(who I knew didn't really get the question) said "something pink"  Greg asked her which pink thing but she said that she didn't know.

Greg had to stand in the driveway with one of the Asian Tigers (the name of the moving company) guys checking off box by box the item numbers that had been placed on everything as they were packed.

I was a little glad that I got to see the container arrive, watch it being opened and then "had to tear myself away" to take Ashley to school.  Then the driver took me to Makati-a nearby city to pick up to chairs for by our pool.  We needed to do this while there were no kids in the van so we could have all the space we could get.

After that I ran back through again, fixed Greg and I some lunch and got to see all the movers had done.  Let's just say it is much faster unpacking than packing.

At 2:30 I returned to get Ashley from preschool and as we were driving back to our street, we saw the truck pulling away with our now empty container on it.  Ashley said "are they taking our things?"  I explained that they had taken everything off the container and left our things at our house.  She was VERY excited to find her toy kitchen when Greg sent her up to the playroom-I told him that he had to go and take pictures.

The boys came home around 3-3:30 and Scott had a birthday party to go to at 4.  So I took him, stayed for a little while and got to meet a few of his classmates' parents.

This was one of those days that "stay at home mom" really makes you laugh.  A day to stay at home is a treat!

The movers did a great job-re-assembling things and putting furniture where we asked them to.

The funniest thing we found in the container-was not the ladybugs in their habitat (they really must have gone to storage) but a stinky sippy cup that had been packed with MILK inside, in the summer, on a ship, in the heat, for nearly 3 months-eeeeewwwwwwwwww stinky!
