Many of you have asked us about our container-it has been here in Manila at the docks for quite a while now and I just laughed when Greg read me this email update from someone in his office-
Hello Greg,
Just to update you with the status of your shipment:
We've been trying our best to have it released the soonest possible time but it took a while for the shipping company/ customs to: first, have it inspected, and second, release the amount that we have to pay.
HR has submitted and received all necessary documents. Finance, unfortunately can't process payment unless Procurement finishes the Purchase Order. We have spoken to them to kindly expedite and we will closely monitor.
We shall keep you updated on the development and we're sorry for any inconveniences this has caused you and your family.
Greg said this sounded like a Dilbert cartoon to him and reflects the way things get done here quite often. The really amusing part is that he found out a WEEK after this email was sent that Procurement didn't really need a purchase order after all to have this taken care of. Oh well-I guess our things will show up eventually.
