The whole family went to school this morning to meet teachers. We had to stand in line for ids and car tags.
We went to Ryan's class first. His teacher is Mrs. Avecilla and she was very nice. All 3 of our kids immediately went and sat down by her bookshelf to read. Greg and I got to talk to the teacher and pick up all of our beginning of school info. We walked around in the Early Learning Center (nursery-2nd grade) seeing the music and art rooms and their amazing library-it has a really cool reading loft and a place underneath it to read and stuffed animals from various books. They have movies and music cds and books on cd and I am very excited that families are allowed to check out materials also. I am getting tired of reading the same children's books (we just brought a few in our luggage) over and over and over, as we still wait for our ocean container. We also saw the gym and playground that is covered due to sun exposure and rain.

There's a cool place to read under the loft too

There is a track with grass in the middle between the ELC building and the rest of the school building. Scott's teacher is Mrs. Richmond. Her husband also teaches in the Brent upper school. She has 2 boys in 3rd and 5th grade and is from California. She is also very friendly. We were able to see his art classroom and the computer lab which we almost couldn't get the kids out of. Then we saw the theater and lower school gym.
I told Greg on the way home that he chose very well. All the people that we have met at school have been so kind and welcoming and the facilities are just beautiful. Really I promise again that soon I will get pictures posted here for everyone to see.
One other neat thing from that day was that we got to meet Greg's boss's wife, Tina, for the first time. She and her kids had just returned from their visits from the US the summer. She seems very nice and I'm looking forward to getting to know her better.
