I snuck invitations to all the girls in her class and hoped no one would say anything to her! Greg took her to lunch that day and we decorated the house and put the cake together and Scott helped blow up balloons and walked the dog while Ryan colored eight number 8s for us to hang up.
Practicing holding up their signs and getting in the right order to spell Surprise-4 friends from her class were able to come
Sierra, Aarya, Riley, and Claire
hiding when we heard the garage door go up
She was REALLY surprised! The girls told me there had been a couple of near misses giving her surprise away but she said that she didn't know anything!
So exciting!
The girls all said we should have cake first! I told them there was a surprise inside the cake. One friend asked if someone was inside-she hadn't seen the cake yet to know that no one would actually fit in there. Then another asked if it was going to blow up-I said that I hoped not!
The surprise inside was skittles!
Next was a surprise game-all the girls had sleep masks to use as blindfolds. They covered their eyes and I put something in their mouth and they had to guess what it was-different flavors of goldfish, candies, sour patch kids, etc. It was fun
Then we did a pinata in the garage
Then we were off to the pool! Thankful that there was no rain
We only had 9 people in the car
The water was COLD! but they didn't care too much
They swam a little
built chair forts and played with things in their surprise bags
and they did swim a little more before everyone went home!
an almost 13 year old big brother who decided he was not going swimming!
Scott, Greg, and Ryan were trying out a new "bounce on the water ball" that I had bought
Ashley opened gifts from her sweet friends after we got back home
friendship necklaces
a perfect t-shirt
we have already made some chalk and it makes the driveway look awesomely fancy
an amazing new game
and a new stuffed animal now named Chester!
Cannot believe this girl is 8!
