2nd Grade Awards

2nd new post of the day-So excited that she got All A Honor Roll for the year!

Her teacher also had awards for each child and an end of the year gift

The classroom awards were all "most likely to" and hers says be a dentist with the brightest smile in the room!

She has had an awesome year with Miss Gilstrap!
They got to write on these cool sunglasses about their favorite things from 2nd grade!

Our crazy dog!

I got Max a toy for $1 at walmart because I wanted a funny picture with it.  It is a hot pink mustache-like a photo booth prop.  I knew that it wouldn't last but about 5 minutes and it did not but it was funny while it lasted.

Doggy-that is not how they intended you to pose with this toy

 Now you're getting it!
Max is a funny dog even without a pink mustache!  We had a terrifying experience a couple of week's ago though.  He had ridden with us to take kids to school, everyone was dropped off, and I was driving to meet a friend to walk our dogs together.  Max was in the middle seat looking out the window, I was waiting to turn and I heard a noise, looked back and he was gone.  Greg says he must have jumped out of the car window-it was down all the way, but I had the leash tucked in beside me in the front.  He slipped out of his collar and ran up to some trees in the person's yard we were beside.  I pulled over into the yard, put the car in park, climbed over to the middle seat, and opened the passenger door.  My car was still hanging out into the road badly.  Thankfully I called him and he came right back and no one hit my car that was hanging out into the road.  I wish I could have seen the view the driver of the car behind us had.  So now the rule is windows are only allowed to be halfway down when he is in the car.  I could not believe he had done that after NEVER showing the slightest interest in jumping out of the car before!

SURPRISE!

Before Greg's birthday, Ashley said she thought we should have a surprise party for Daddy!  I told her that I had done that one time and that Daddy doesn't like surprises AT ALL!  When I told him what she had said he laughed, thanked me, and said that we should do one for her for her birthday since she thought the idea was so wonderful.

I snuck invitations to all the girls in her class and hoped no one would say anything to her!  Greg took her to lunch that day and we decorated the house and put the cake together and Scott helped blow up balloons and walked the dog while Ryan colored eight number 8s for us to hang up.

Practicing holding up their signs and getting in the right order to spell Surprise-4 friends from her class were able to come
 Sierra, Aarya, Riley, and Claire
hiding when we heard the garage door go up

She was REALLY surprised!  The girls told me there had been a couple of near misses giving her surprise away but she said that she didn't know anything!
 So exciting!
The girls all said we should have cake first!  I told them there was a surprise inside the cake.  One friend asked if someone was inside-she hadn't seen the cake yet to know that no one would actually fit in there.  Then another asked if it was going to blow up-I said that I hoped not!

 The surprise inside was skittles!

Next was a surprise game-all the girls had sleep masks to use as blindfolds.  They covered their eyes and I put something in their mouth and they had to guess what it was-different flavors of goldfish, candies, sour patch kids, etc.  It was fun

Then we did a pinata in the garage

Then we were off to the pool!   Thankful that there was no rain

We only had 9 people in the car

The water was COLD!  but they didn't care too much

 They swam a little

built chair forts and played with things in their surprise bags

and they did swim a little more before everyone went home!
an almost 13 year old big brother who decided he was not going swimming!

Scott, Greg, and Ryan were trying out a new "bounce on the water ball" that I had bought

Ashley opened gifts from her sweet friends after we got back home
 friendship necklaces
 a perfect t-shirt

we have already made some chalk and it makes the driveway look awesomely fancy

 an amazing new game

and a new stuffed animal now named Chester!
Cannot believe this girl is 8!
