July 4th

Having grown up in Atlanta-I had NEVER been downtown to see the Peachtree Rd. race-this year the kids and I packed up and went down there and had a very fun time!

 The really fast early runner
 Some funny costumes
So fun to see Em and Jake run by and stop for hugs
 More funny costumes

We got to see Grammy run by too!

You can't even see the kids in this picture but they took off running to greet Grammy when we saw her coming after the race.
Then we ran home, cleaned up, went to my cousin's wedding and then up to Cartersville to Mimi and BopBop's house for dinner

Thank goodness it will be a few more years before these 2 are lose on the real road together!
a scarier thought is that it won't be much longer before these to are driving something larger!
Mimi and BopBop have a great yard for fun!
 We enjoyed a cookout
 sparklers

Being silly
a rousing game of baseball with some of the kids already in their pjs

Ashley went home with the Gross family to her 1st spend the night party without mom or dad-they had a blast!

Grammy, the boys and I got to go for a special ride in the back of BopBop's truck!

A terrific fun day spent celebrating family, fun, and love for our country!

Even more summer

Scott helping make a flag cake for July 4th
Some more serious ballet time-Above is Abby Jane in the helmet, another of Emily's old ballet costumes, and a motorcyle helmet
 Now Joy has the helmet
Tiaras, shiny shoes, tutus, and ballet bears help you to dance better!

 The jumping closet!

a visit to Grammy's cool play therapy office

and what a cool bridge overlooking the train tracks near her office

Running and Jumping are always fun!

 Ryan reading to Daddy

Grammy reading to Ashley

We got to have lunch with Nancy, Russ and Gretchen on our way to Greenville-Nancy and Gretchen are Larry's sisters-a fun time catching up over pizza

We went to Zoo Atlanta with Em and her crew-below Ashley and Joy are trying to figure out what we should see first!

Greg assigned Scott the job of counting and making sure we didn't lose any children-it was a terrific idea!

 Seed sticks for the birds

There was talk of leaving some of our animals at the zoo but in the end we took them all back home!

Ryan, Ashley, Scott, and Abby Jane with Willie B

 looking at the pandas
a picnic and a train ride

Scott climbed the rock wall & below is out crew at the reptile house
Grammy went with me and the kids to the Center for Puppetry arts-we saw a show about dinosaurs and made our own dino puppets

We were downtown-so a perfect excuse to eat at the "real" Varsity-we may have to hit the other ones next summer.  You know it is an accomplishment to say that you have eaten at all the Varsity restaurants!

and still more ballet in various costumes
More cousins arrive in time for a b'day lunch for Aunt Becky and Granny Joan

Grandaddy's paper airplanes are terribly popular!
