United Nations Day at school

Here is our crew before school-all wearing clothes from our China trip this summer!  Ashley's dress came from a silk factory that we visited and the chopsticks in her hair came from PF Changs here!
 Ashley and her buddy Hannah!
Ashley with the school counselor who moved from Korea this summer
 Some Indian friends of ours
Other ELC kids lining up for the parade with their classes

Below is a girl in a red, blue, white and yellow dress that our first year here Ashley thought was Snow White-really it is a national costume from Venezuela

Below are some of the 5th grade teachers-the one you can't see much of is Scott's teacher-a well traveled American who has taught in several foreign countries.  Her costume is from Mauritania-yes I had to ask and it is on the North western coast of Africa and she lived there for a while.

Here is Ryan on the track with his class
I love this girl's red, white and blue dress-representing the Philippine flag

Related Arts teachers watching the parade

Below is another Philippine flag dress and a fancy headdress
Below is Scott with a new classmate from Turkey

Students volunteered to learn the South African gumboot dance, done by the miners to pass the time while they worked.  It was cool to watch and the South African ambassador attended also!
